DESIGN - COLLEGE OF NURSING

COLLEGE OF NURSING

  • Nursing is not a “back-up” option to other medical related fields/majors.  Responsibilities of nurses are different than doctors or physician’s assistant.  Be sure you want to be a nurse. Additionally, Nursing school is not a great stepping stone to Medical or PA school.  (We see this more as student confusion regarding the profession of nursing, not a problem with advising incorrectly).
  • We have second degree options.  In fact, many of our students graduated with a degree in something other than Nursing and are returning to make a change in career paths.
  • We do not meet/advise with pre-nursing students until they have taken at least 3 of the 10 prerequisite courses. For those students who have not taken at least 3 courses, please direct them to University College.
